Product Review: Cherokee Scrub Top

Cherokee Scrubs top from their new spring collection, care of Uniformed Scrubs

Having been a nurse for more than thirty years, I have worn my fair share of scrub uniforms.  As an item of clothing that you wear five days a week – do errands after work in, go to lunch dates or meetings in, or perhaps meet the love of your life in – you expect a lot from your scrubs.  You want them to be comfortable yet durable, functional yet stylish, and inexpensive yet high-quality – not exactly an easy thing to find.

I was recently contacted by Uniformed Scrubs, an online mall, so-to-speak, for the healthcare professional, to review a Cherokee Uniforms scrub top from their new spring line.  I agreed to provide an honest review.  I wore it, a couple of my employees wore it, I washed it several times,  and I accidently spilled vitamin C serum on it.

Cherokee Scrubs has been around for a long time.  I have several pairs of Cherokee scrubs that I purchased years ago, and they have served me well.  Last year I purchased a pair of Cherokee scrubs, and I was disappointed in their quality.  The material felt cheap and was somewhat stiff on my body.  When I received this scrub top in the mail, however, I was very impressed.  Cherokee has really stepped it up!  The material is soft, thick, and good quality.  I like the fact that when I perspire, the fabric does not cling to my skin.  The color I got was Royal Blue – and I do love the color.  It’s a deep vibrant blue (the first picture shows the true color much better than the second).  So far, I’ve gotten two compliments on the color.  The design of the top is very traditional – V-neck with deep, front pockets.  It’s very functional.  The Cherokee scrub top washes extremely well.  The size, color, and fabric feel was retained after washing the top two times.  My only complaint is the sizing – it runs quite large.  I requested a size Small based on the size chart, but it’s pretty loose on me.  I feel an Extra-Small would’ve been a better fit.  In normal clothing I am usually a size Medium in tops.  Other than the sizing issue, I think the top fits in an attractive way.

In short, I would absolutely recommend this top to health care workers.
