About Me

I am the owner and operator of Laser Enhanced Therapies in Boston, MA.  I am a registered nurse and a 35-year alumna from the University of Massachusetts in Boston.  My interest in skin care and beauty began more than 15 years ago when my own skin problems and those of my three daughters brought dermatological medicine to a personal forefront. Although my main focus in nursing was Intensive Care, I spent years as both a patient and patient advocate as I navigated a wide range of dermatological paths for solutions to skin imperfections. This search lead me to laser therapies and my own clinical practice serving the Greater Boston area. I am a Certified Medical Laser Safety Officer with the Board of Laser Safety. I obtained expert training in medical laser devices under the guidance of a board certified dermatologist. I enjoy Fellow status with the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Inc.

I attempt to write my blog posts in a way that is understood by both the professional and lay person.  All too often, people are misinformed about non-surgical, cosmetic therapies – I strive to provide an honest and accurate representation of current and innovative therapies   If you find any inaccuracies, please let me know.  Please feel free to post a comment or message me with any question or concerns that you might have.

    • Hi Will! I don’t treat stretch marks because I don’t have to best lasers for it. In my experience, I have found there to be few solutions to diminishing stretch marks. For removing the redness in stretch marks, I recommend finding a place that has the Vbeam Laser. In addition, the Smoothbeam Laser can help the appearance of stretch marks by increasing the collagen in the skin. Some clinics will say that other lasers works, but they really don’t do much – you may see a 10% improvement at best.

Thanks for reading, and best of luck!

      • Thanks for your quick response! Just to clarify, are you saying that the Vbeam / Smooth Beam only makes a 10% difference or are you referring to the other lasers?

Also do you have any recommendations on Greater Boston area practitioners that use the lasers you mentioned?

Thanks so much for your help!

      • Hi Will – I apologize for not being clear before. Other lasers, besides the Vbeam and Smoothbeam, may only show a 10% improvement. There is so much that I could delve into regarding stretch marks. Instead on trying to cram it all into this comment, I have decided to write a post on stretch marks and treatment options – so thank you for the inspiration! I will post it some time next week, so please stay tuned. In terms of practitioners that use the Vbeam – I know that Dr. Robert O’Brien of Dermatology Associates in Winchester, MA has a Vbeam laser. His office is one that I would recommend.
